في احدي :ليالي : الشتاء الباردة كنا مجموعة من الأصدقاء نجلس في احدي المقاهي نتجاذب اطراف الحديث وقد كان كل واحد منا يحكي حكاية غريبة حدثت له في حياته ولم يجد لها تفسيرا منطقيا وفي تلك الاثناء لاحظت وجود شخص غريب يجلس بالقرب منا وهو ينصت باهتمام لما نقول دون ان يشاركنا في : الحديث وبعد ان انتهي كل واحد من سرد قصته التفت الى ذلك الشخص الغريب وسألته :ايها السيد .. الم تمر بك اى أحداث في حياتك لم تجد لها اى تفسير ؟؟
ظل الرجل الغريب في صمته لحظة ثم تحدث: الحقيقة يا صديقي حدثت لي قصة قد تبدو قصة عادية وقد تكون غريبة لانني لم اجد لها اي تفسير حتي الآن . وهنا إنتبه الجميع الي حديثنا فتحولوا الي الرجل الغريب وطلبوا منه ان يسرد عليهم قصته حتي يقرروا ان كانت غريبة فعلا . اعتدل الرجل الغريب في جلسته ثم بدأ في سرد قصته :« في العام الماضي كنت اسكن في احد المنازل القديمة في شارع «اوزموند وول» وقد كان نظام تصريف المياه في ذلك المنزل لا يعمل بطريقة جيدة لذلك تشققت الجدران واتلفت اوراق الحائط في غرفتي وظهرت عليها اشكال غريبة اشبه بالخرائط وذلك بفعل الرطوبة وقد كانت هذه الاشكال تتغير كل يوم ولقد لاحظت انها شكلت وجه لانسان في منتصف الحائط والغريبة ان هذا الوجه الذي ظهر بفعل الرطوبة وبمساعدة ورق الحائط لم يتغير ابدا بل ازداد في الوضوح حتي صار وجها آدميا في غاية الوضوح كأنه صورة فتوغرافية بعد ان ظهرت ملامحه الدقيقة كالعيون والشعر والأنف وتركيبة الرأس وقد انتابني شعور بأن هناك شخص في هذه الدنيا يشبهه بعد ان رسخت صورته في ذهني تماما لذلك بدأت في البحث عن صاحب هذا الوجه بين المارة علنى التقي به ثم تحولت الى اماكن التجمعات كدور الرياضة والمسارح والسينمات ومحطات القطارات وهكذا بدأت في البحث عن صاحب الوجه كالمجنون حتي ارتاب في تحركاتي رجال الشرطة والجيران ولكني لم اهتم لهم لانني لم اكن اراقب النساء لأن كل اهتمامي كان بالرجال فقط ولكن مع كل ذلك فشلت في العثور علي صاحب ذلك الوجه الذي ظهر على حائط غرفتي .     صمت ذلك الرجل الغريب برهة ثم قام بمسح وجهه براحة يده وقد بدأت على محياه علامات التفكير والارهاق ثم واصل في سرد قصته «واخيرا وجدته .. نعم لقد وجدت صاحب الوجه وقد كان يستغل سيارة اجرة شرق (بيكاديللي) لذلك لم اتردد في تعقبه حتي وصلنا الي محطة القطارات وقد كان صاحبنا بصحبة سيدة وفتاة صغيرة وهم في طريقهم الى فرنسا عبر «المانش» ومع ذلك واصلت تعقبهم حتي صعدوا الي ظهر الباخرة التي سوف تعبر بهم الى الشاطئ الفرنسي وفي الباخرة اختفي الرجل ومجموعته داخل احد الاجنحة الخاصة وانتظرت حتي خرج الرجل ليتمشى على ظهر الباخرة بصحبة الفتاة الصغيرة . صمت الرجل الغريب لحظة ثم واصل في سرد قصته «تقدمت نحو الرجل صاحب الوجه وسألته بكل جرأة أن يمنحني بطاقته الخاصة لأنني في اشد الحاجة اليها وهنا تعجب الرجل ولكنه مع ذلك ادخل يده في جيبه واخرج لي بطاقة مذهبة قدمها لي ثم انصرف مع الفتاة بهدوء دون ان يسألني عن السبب وبعد ان انصرف انزويت في احد الاركان ونظرت الى البطاقة وقد هالني ما رأيت ودارت الدنيا حولي واصابني دوار لم يكن بفعل البحر ولكن ما رأيته كان السبب فقد قرأت في البطاقة «مستراوزمون وول» من الولايات المتحدة «واوزمون وول» هو اسم الشارع الذي اسكن فيه وكلمة «وول» تعني حائط . توقف الرجل الغريب عن سرد قصته وصرنا ننظر الى بعضنا البعض فقد فاقت قصته كل ما رويناه هذا المساء ولكن القصة لم تنته بعد، قال الرجل الغريب بعد ان عدت الى غرفتي في «اوزمولن وول» بدأت اتحري عن «اوزمولن وول» فعرفت ان «اوزمون وول» شخصية معروفة، مليونير امريكي من اصل بريطاني يعيش بين امريكا وانجلترا ولكني لم اعرف له عنوان في لندن وفي ذلك اليوم استغرقت في نوم عميق من شدة التعب وفي الصباح فتحت عيني ونظرت الى الحائط حيث توجد صورة «اوزمولن وول» المرسومة بفعل الرطوبة قبالتي وفجأة قمت مفزوعا وانا لا اصدق مااري لقد كانت صورة الوجه واضحة حتي الأمس ولكنها بدأت باهتة هذا الصباح حتي انني لا اكاد ان اتبينها الشئ الذي اصابني بالحزن لذلك خرجت من المنزل وعندما طالعت صحف الصباح طالعت هذا الخبر مليونير امريكي يتعرض لحادث سيارة وقرأت تعرض المليونير المعروف اوزمون وول لحادث سيارة وهو الآن في غرفة الانعاش بعد ان ساءت حالته ووو....». توقف الرجل الغريب عن سرد قصته ثم واصل «الاغرب من ذلك عندما عدت الي غرفتي وجدت ان صورة الوجه المرسوم على الحائط قد تلاشت تماما واختفت وحلت مكانها بعض الشقوق والاشكال الغريبة بفعل الرطوبة وفي المساء جاءت الصحف المسائية معلنة وفاة مستر اوزمولن وول وهكذا انتهت القصة ولكن ..صمت الرجل الغريب بعد ان اكمل قصته وصحنا كلنا «انها قصة غريبة فعلا قصة لا يمكن تفسيرها باى حال من الاحوال لانها اغرب من الخيال» وهنا قال الرجل الغريب نعم انها فعلا قصة غريبة ولكن هناك ثلاثة اشياء يمكن توضيحها حول هذه القصة اولا من الطبيعي ان تظهر صورة وجه ما على الحائط بفعل الرطوبة وتشبه شخص ما ولكن عندما تختفي هذه الصورة مع وفاة هذا الشخص فهو امر غريب لا يمكن تفسيره ثانيا ان يتطابق اسم الشخص مع اسم المكان الذي ظهرت فيه فهذا امر آخر لا يمكن تفسيره ايضا .نهض الرجل الغريب من مقعده ثم هم بالانصراف. وقبل ان ينصرف سأله احدنا «معذرة يا سيد لقد قلت ان هناك ثلاثة اشياء يمكن توضيحها حول هذه القصة وانت لم تذكر غير اثنين فقط». وهنا اجاب الرجل الغريب ببرود «آه .. انا آسف لقد نسيت ان اوضح لكم الأمر الثالث عن القصة وهو انني قمت بتأليفها في اقل من نصف ساعة وانا استمع الى .. حديثكم» . ثم انصرف !!
